Hopefully by the time this posts, the first of the Double Helix:Chameleon novels will be almost ready to publish wide. I’m hoping to get Book 2 out before the end of the year.
Books 2 and 3 are in full draft at the moment, but they need some work and to be seen by an editor. And NaNoWrimo is in November – I’m not going to try to revise and publish a book while writing the zero draft of Book 5! I’ll be lucky if I can get the zero draft done – it’s the last book in the Chameleon series in the Double Helix universe.
I still need to finish the zero draft of Book 4 too. I got stuck about seventy percent of the way through, but I think I figured out how to fix it.
At least I shouldn’t have any trouble with the covers. At least as I remember to let the designer know there are five books in the series. The back cover copy (blurb) for the books is another matter – they’re hard to write. And I need to update my author website and get the email list straightened out.
So the plan right now is to:
- * publish Book 1 wide in October
- * edit and revise Book 2 in October
- * write the zero draft of Book 5 in November
- * publish Book 2 wide in December
- * edit and revise Book 3 in December
- * get the mailing list straightened out
- * update my author website
We’ll see if I can make these deadlines stick. I really need to, or I’ll just keep on flailing without making any progress.
