After Double Helix:Chameleon

November 7, 2019 by Jenn Leave a Comment

If you’ve been reading my recent posts, you already know that I’m concentrating on getting the Double Helix:Chameleon series finished and published. The last book probably won’t be out until May or June of 2020. But the writing should be mostly finished by the end of November. I’ll be revising, but the majority of the work will be done.

So what will I be working on when the current projects are done? I’m not completely certain yet. I’ll probably be doing some work on Starfall Station. It’s a futuristic Sci-fi trilogy. But I kind of want to do something that’s not sci-fi too.

There’s Revenant – a paranormal romance. Or my Tarot based story – that’s a portal fantasy. Clockwork Empire is steampunk. They’re all one off novels. Or at least none of them have told me there are more stories waiting. There are possibilities, but noting tugging at me to say there’s a second or third book for any of them.

Dawn and Omega are both sci-fi/fantasy stories that have more than one book in them. There’s an urban fantasy series with an annoyingly competent supernatural hunter. A fantasy series about bards and another about a priest of the god of misfits. Then there’s the family of gods. And another set of gods who are bound to places and rely on their followers for their strength.

If I didn’t want a break from the Double Helix univers, I’d be considering the next series there, which I think will be three or four books, though it could expand. Chameleon started out as a trilogy. But I need to write something else for a bit. And it’s not like I’ll be completely leaving Double Helix. I have some short stories to write.

My guess is that I’ll be working on Starfall Station and something else. Right now I’m leaning toward finishing Revenant or the Tarot based story. But sometimes I want to write about the bards because they’re an interesting group. And the supernatural hunter can be a bit insistent on occasion.

I guess I’ll decide come December.
