The Muse Returns (With a Bang!)

The muse has returned - and I have plans!

For a long time, my writing muse felt like a ghost—hovering at the edges of my mind, whispering stories when I was too busy or too tired to truly listen. Life has a way of doing that: shifting priorities, demanding attention, leaving only small pockets of space where words might slip in if they’re patient enough.

And for a while, I told myself I would get back to writing “when things calmed down.” When there was time. When I had the energy.

The thing about waiting for the perfect moment? It rarely arrives.

But recently, something shifted.

Maybe it was the way a character’s voice came back in the middle of a quiet morning. Maybe it was seeing my cover artist say he’s been enjoying my book, calling it a blend of super-powered intrigue and heartfelt stakes. Maybe it was the gentle reminder that stories help me carry the weight of the world, not the other way around.

Whatever it was, my muse didn’t just return quietly—she returned with a bang.

Suddenly, characters are chattering in the back of my mind again, asking me when it’s their turn. Worlds are unfurling. Plot threads I thought were lost are waiting patiently to be woven back in.

What does this mean?

It means In Plain Sight launches on August 30, and I am so ready to share it with you.
It means the Helix Codex series is moving forward, piece by piece, breath by breath.
It means there are other stories, waiting in the wings, getting ready for their moment to step into the light.

And it means I’m making space for the muse, even on days when life is loud and heavy—because the stories matter, and I’ve remembered how much they matter to me, too.

✨ If your muse has been quiet, know that it’s okay. You haven’t failed, and you’re not alone. Sometimes the stories come back when you least expect them, tapping you on the shoulder with the reminder:

“It’s time.”
